A few days ago I saw my “I ♥ Nerds” shirt with Spongebob Squarepants wearing square-framed glasses. Then a thought occurred to me. Do I? LOL. A chance to evaluate my past and present love interests! (As if any other day isn’t an opportunity to do such.) Anyway, I realized there were a few things common in all of them. Smart. Witty. Eloquent. And… (Now, I say this not to insult, ‘cause I really do like these guys.) all of them won’t pass for an Abercrombie & Fitch model. And you know what? I wouldn’t have them any other way. I like flaws. Flaws are, actually, beautiful. I’m never attracted to people who look like they just stepped out of a glossy magazine. Size zero. Perfect pinky pout. Six-pack abs. Ogle-worthy face. Nope, it just doesn’t work for me. I like a cute gap tooth, a chunky tummy, braces. I am not perfect, so why should I bash on someone else’s imperfections? Instead of criticizing, why not appreciate the little quirks of people. Flaws make people real, and I’d rather be with real people than with life size mannequins who couldn’t keep a conversation going. Perfectly imperfect, now that’s more like it. ϋ
